Home in four pages

More than a Vessel is a four-page publication within a larger publication produced by the first-year students of Maryland Institute College of Art's Graphic Design MFA. Each entry created to the theme of ‘home’, was woven into a book as well as turned into a motion poster. More than a Vessel focused on cups I collect each time I travel. Cups, the only object I collect, are not just cups, but a medium reminding me of my travels once at home. My cups are memories of home because they are in my home country, Korea. Each page of my piece puts together two illustrations of cups alongside their stories. In addition to stories, I put information about the cup to help the viewer imagine; the location that I bought the cup, the size, material, etc. The colors used in the backgrounds are reminiscent of the color of cups.
